Les 2 Alpes stretches two kilometres along a flat ridge at 1,650 m, with slopes falling away on both sides: west to the sunny Pied Moutet, east and upward to the Dôme de la Lauze glacier. The glacier supports summer skiing, one of the few places in Europe still open in July and August. The valley run that starts up there drops almost two thousand metres, among the longest descents in the Alps. In 2024 the new Jandri 3S gondola opened, lifting you from the village to 3,200 m in seventeen minutes.

Les 2 Alpes is valued for its glacier and vertical drop: descending from 3,600 m gives more than two kilometres of vertical skiing, which is unusual in the Alps. Visitors praise the summer glacier skiing and the strong snowpark.
Criticism focuses on the layout of the ski area: the upper pistes are short and gentle, while essentially one long descent leads downhill, becoming crowded by the afternoon. Visitors also complain about the village - noisy and stretched along a single street - and about wind on the glacier, which can lead to the upper area being closed.
