Vučići - Ogulin
1 / 15Vučići - Ogulin ski resort in Croatia has 0.6 km of pistes for skiing and snowboarding, plus 3 lifts.
Trail information
Vučići lies near Ogulin in Croatian Gorski Kotar, below Mount Klek, whose outline local legend takes for a sleeping giant and holds to be a gathering place for witches. The area is tiny: three short lifts and under a kilometre of runs with seventy metres of vertical, operated by the local ski club. Ogulin is known for something else too: it is the birthplace of Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, called the Croatian Andersen.

What visitors say about the resort
What visitors praise above all is that everything is free: no charge for entry, parking or a hot drink, with the hill living on donations from happy guests. It is run by volunteers from the Ogulin ski club, who installed the floodlights and the snow cannon themselves and marshal the slope for safety. Reviews highlight an excellent run for beginners and sledgers, night skiing under the lights, mulled wine and tea in the hut, and the fact that you can cycle there from the town centre.
Essentially the only complaint is scale. The run is very short, and beyond learning there is little to do: anyone confident on skis will be finished in minutes. There is no resort infrastructure, everything rests on enthusiasts and the weather, so the timetable is unpredictable and it is worth checking the lift is turning. Its popularity grows every season, and on snowy weekends the tiny hill gets crowded.
